I haven't contributed anything in what, years?  I feel kinda bad about that, like I'm in a one-sided relationship where I'm just using dA to fulfill my need to enjoy amazing art.  It's a conflict I've felt since I joined this site, and I don't see it changing any time soon >.>   I don't even comment as much as I'd like.  But, when the only thing I really have to say is "That's awesome" and 20 other people have already said that, I think clicking :+fav: has the same effect.

Marian is almost 14 months old, now.  She's healthy and beautiful and I couldn't ask for more.  I can't wait until she starts drawing.  I give her a pencil and she'll scribble with it for about 2 seconds then start chewing on it and I have to take it away from her, lol.

That's about it.  Just popping in to say "I still exist."  ^^;

I've tried to read this like three times, but the print is so small! I tried blowing it up, but that just makes it bigger and blurrier. >.<

"Saturday Morning Cereal Shows:

A Retro Look at The Legend of Zelda Cartoon

It’s very hard to get words out of Link. The Legend of Zelda is famous for its mute hero saving the world, the fair Princess Zelda, and destroying the evil Ganon. However, when Nintendo worked with DiC Entertainment, they brought to life an icon in ways that some found favorable, others despised. Depending on your opinion of The Legend of Zelda cartoon, the show made an impact on the history of the franchise. To get in the spirit of celebrating The Legend of Zelda 25th anniversary, it’s best to start with the first place Link received the voice that changed the way we look at the Hero of Time.

The Legend of Zelda was a huge hit, with two games under its belt by the time the cartoon was in planning. Though both games were on the Nintendo, there were completely different in style. The first was a top-down game that changed the way most people thought of adventure games, focusing on dungeon based gameplay. Collecting pieces of the Triforce, saving Princess Zelda from the clutches of Ganon; the game introduced a formula which would set the bar for the series. The second game had moments of top-down travel, but Link would visit towns, collect magic from old wise men, and eventually, fighting your own shadow. Saving the world on a side-scrolling plane was different, and the game has always been considered the black sheep of the series. However, these two games led to the creation for the basis of the cartoon about The Legend of Zelda.

Placed in between episodes of the Super Mario Brothers Super Show, The Legend of Zelda ran for 13 episodes, and while there was no second season, the show’s characters and voice actors did get brought back for a few episodes of Captain N: The Game Master.

Though the show seemed to focus its attention to the second Zelda game for design and character’s ages, all of the first game’s sound effects were used in the show during fight scenes. Hearing Link’s classic laser sword spew from his weapon was magic to most children, and it became a frequent sound to hear during the show’s short run. Musically, the series never sound better, with classic themes carefully orchestrated, and remain stellar even to this day. Most of all, you can tell how much fun the voice actors had playing these characters, and the actors themselves gracefully answered questions for Pixel Nation about their experiences.

Johnathan Potts and Cynthia Preston voiced the roles of Link and Zelda, respectably. Potts said Nintendo had no influence on him making the character his own. “To my recollection there was never a visit from anyone at Nintendo. We were given notes on how the game worked, but it was only to help us understand the magical effects employed – to make the performance better. The only input I had on the show was regarding the voice of Link.” "
